My favourite photo editing apps
Updated: Aug 27, 2022
The opportunities for editing photos are ever-growing, and one of the questions I get asked most is what I use for mine. The truth is, I dip in and out of various apps all the time, ads catch my eye and I can spend hours falling down rabbit holes on all the amazing things you can do these days.
I decided to compile a list of my absolute favourites for you, so you can avoid wasting time reading all the various recommendations!
I might be showing my age here, but it does make me laugh that around 50% of my A-level Photography was based on developing the film!! lol

LIGHTROOM
I have heard a lot of people say that Lightroom is tricky to use, but I honestly find it very intuitive once you give it some time. I use a group of presets for most of my images to give them a better chance of sitting well together on my social media pages.
Adobe Lightroom app is easily the most powerful editor I’ve tried, nearly as good as the desktop version and features a wide variety of adjustments and tools.
UNFOLD
Unfold is an app that is simple to use to create beautiful content with the hundreds of templates available. From the makers of Squarespace, Unfold allows you to create stories and grid posts from your videos and photos with its filters and effects.
Once you’ve created your masterpiece in the app it’s really easy to download the individual stories to your phone, ready to post.
Unfold also allows you to plan your feed in advance, and there is a pro version with more functionality for those who want to do more.
A COLOR STORY
I often use A Color Story to add something extra to my images, story frames and grid posts. There are some amazing overlays and stickers suitable for lots of styles within the app.
LENS BUDDY
Lens Buddy is such a helpful app for taking photos when you’re alone. I am almost always shooting alone, and whilst most phones have a timer, the Lens Buddy App just makes things so much simpler by allowing you to shoot multiple pictures without continually going back to your phone.
